The program, developed as an outgrowth of our carbon neutrality initiative and aligned with tenets of USGBC’s LEED® and EPA’s ENERGY STAR® programs, serves as the organization’s internal certification system to help reduce carbon emissions. Projects may be certified Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum based on results of an annual survey consisting of 42 questions that have been weighted with appropriate point values to form the framework and criteria for the certification program. Besides establishing a protocol for the greening of occupied space, the program supports ongoing participation in sustainability initiatives while promoting best practices across the real estate industry.
